SINGLE ANTIQUE YAO (MIEN) / HMONG / LAHU SILVER BENT ARROW EARRING – GOLDEN TRIANGLE REGION
Early to Mid-20th Century
An authentic antique Yao (Mien) / Hmong / Lahu hill tribe earring from the Golden Triangle region, encompassing Northern Thailand, Laos, and Burma (Myanmar). Handcrafted in the early–mid 20th century, this piece features the distinctive bent arrow (spearhead) form—a design strongly associated with Yao silversmithing traditions and symbolic adornment in the highland cultures.
The earring is sculptural and well-balanced, with a pronounced curved shaft terminating in a pointed arrow-like end. Subtle hand-worked details and wrapped elements demonstrate traditional metalworking techniques passed through generations.
Crafted in high-silver-content metal (tested), the piece displays a rich natural patina consistent with age and authentic use. Solid yet wearable, it represents both personal ornament and cultural identity within Yao society.
