PAIR OF VINTAGE LAHU (MUSUR) SILVER FLOWER EARRINGS – NORTHERN THAILAND / BURMA BORDER
PAIR OF VINTAGE LAHU (MUSUR) SILVER FLOWER EARRINGS – NORTHERN THAILAND / BURMA BORDER
A handcrafted pair of traditional Lahu (Musur) earrings from the Northern Thailand–Burma (Myanmar) border region, exhibiting a characteristic rounded, bent form adorned with floral motifs.
The Lahu are well known for their silversmithing tradition, producing jewelry that combines functional wearability with decorative symbolic elements. The floral design seen here is consistent with regional ornament styles, where natural forms are interpreted into compact, wearable compositions.
This pair is made from tested high-silver-content alloy, a typical feature of hill tribe jewelry, which often favors high silver purity over standardized alloys. The metal displays a soft, matte luster with subtle surface irregularities indicative of hand fabrication.
The construction allows for potential stone setting within the central floral element, either as an original design intention or later adaptation.
The pairs are common to be connected with cotton string.
Condition is very good for its age: fully intact, structurally sound, and wearable. Surface shows light, age-consistent wear while retaining its original form and character.
An authentic example of Lahu tribal silverwork, representing the enduring craft traditions of the highland communities of Northern Thailand and the Burma border region.
Sold as a pair.
Can be inserted through ear tunnels.
